New from Wa. State

Postby litetrigger » Fri Jan 01, 2016 4:19 pm

Been going to Montana for over 20 years for gophers and P-dogs. In the last 5 years I have added 17 A/bee 20 VT and 204R to the standard list of 22 hornet, 218B, 222, 223, 22-250. Now working on a 17 A/hornet. I need some help on cases. If anyone has info. glad to hear from you. Thanks Litetrigger in Wenatchee, Wa

Welcome to the forum, it looks like you have a nice selection of varmint cartridges to choose from. As mentioned above what are your questions on the 17ah?

I think I would like to buy some cases to start with. Maybe someone could sell me 50-100 cases. Thanks

My inlaws live just south of you in Mattawa. Are you looking for formed cases or 22 hornet to form?

Check with Todd at The Woodchuck Den in Baltic, OH, as he has offered these cases for years. If he's out of stock, chances are he'll form up a set for you, but it's easier just to load up a decent load in the Hornet case after necking down and shoot, thereby getting a completely formed case every time you open up the action after firing.

I go ground squirrel shooting with boxes of 100 necked down, but unformed Hornet cases, and shoot rats until the entire box is fireformed to MY chamber. Even better than getting pre-formed cases IMHO.

Tell Todd I sent you. You're going to LOVE the little 17AH for rats....you'll wonder why you waited so long! ;)
